    Does anyone say that anymore? If you’ve heard it, does it feel like we say it later in the summer than we used to? It’s that time of year when I mourn the end of summer and the waning daylight. In the western hemisphere, daylight hours have been slowly decreasing. Have you noticed? It’s a gradual change, just like being in the proverbial boiling pot. We don’t realize until, “Wow, it’s 8pm and it’s already dark!” I miss the light. What does this have to do with art?     If you’re old enough you’re going to have that song stuck in your head for the rest of the day. Sorry? or You’re welcome? September means LOTS of tomatoes in North Carolina gardens. Big ones bursting on the vine and hopefully adding that bright flavor to some of your favorite recipes and salads.     The 100 Day Project

    Starting a long term project fills me with trepidation. One hundred days is a huge commitment! However, in the context of a job or career it doesn’t seem that long. I’ve decided to participate in the #The100DayProject this year. Joining the project isn’t newsworthy, but my project might be. I’ve been writing a children’s book (a series actually) and I want a very specific illustration style to go along with it. Since I’m a new author and the illustrator I want is a seasoned veteran, it’s unlikely that we’ll be in partnership anytime soon.
