Day 10. Last prompt for April!

“If wishes were horses beggars would ride.”

Can’t tell you how many times I heard that quote growing up. A quick research session attributes the quote most commonly to a nursery rhyme from the 1840’s

If wishes were horses,

Beggars would ride:

If turnips were watches

I would wear one by my side.

And if if’s and an’s were pots and pans,

the tinker would never work.

English Nursery Rhymes Collection, 1840

Why choose it for today’s prompt? Seemed like a good idea at the time! Truthfully, it promises to be a fun prompt – especially for collage or photography. Besides, who doesn’t love horses or dreams? I thought we could end with something really juicy and full of many possibilities and interpretations.

April’s Ten Day Choose Art Challenge is complete for this month and it’s been fun! Tami and I have enjoyed seeing your work. If you were able to make time for yourself to create and make art, then it’s been a successful challenge! We’ll see you in May. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook for reminders of our next pre-party and prompts.
